PRESS RELEASE: Dartmouth Man charged with Animal Cruelty

Dartmouth, NS (January 5, 2017) – On December 20, 2016 a 34 year old Dartmouth man was charged with abuse on a dog in the area of Primrose St in Dartmouth.

Robert Pottie was charged under section 445.1.1 (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada for willfully causing unnecessary suffering, injury to a dog.

The dog was released to the SPCA and is recovering from its injuries. It is expected to make a full recovery.  Mr. Pottie is scheduled to attend court on the 7th of March, 2017 at the Dartmouth Provincial courthouse.
