Hantsport Man Charged with Animal Cruelty

Hantsport, NS (January 23, 2017) – A 25 year old man from Hantsport  has been charged with animal cruelty after the SPCA received a disturbing video of the abuse of a small dog.

Jonah Woodman was charged under section 445.1.1 (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada for willfully causing unnecessary pain and suffering to a dog.

Woodman is scheduled to appear in court on March 14th, 2017 at the Kentville Court house.

“This case is especially disturbing considering the video footage we received. We cannot go into details surrounding the case but we can confirm that the dog is ok,” said Jo-Anne Landsburg Chief Inspector for the NS SPCA.
