Kentville (October 24, 2016) – Charges have been laid against a Kings County dog breeder. Alice Ogilvie of Burlington, Kings County, has been charged with 3 counts of animal cruelty under the Animal Protection Act.
Ogilvie is charged for failing to provide an adequate source of water; contrary to section 22 (a) of the Animal Protection Act, confining animals to an enclosure or area with inadequate space, unsanitary conditions and failing to provide an opportunity for exercise as to significantly impair the animals health or wellbeing; contrary to section 22 (d) of the Animal Protection Act AND causing an animal to be in distress; contrary to section 21 (1) of the Animal Protection Act. Ogilvie is scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court on December 20, 2016.
