Kentville, NS (July 19, 2017) – Alice Ogilvie, of Burlington Kings County has plead guilty to two counts of animal cruelty under the Animal Protection Act of NS. Charges were laid in late 2016 by the NS SPCA after completing a lengthy investigation.
Ogilvie pled guilty to confining animals to an enclosure or area with inadequate space, unsanitary conditions and failing to provide an opportunity for exercise as to significantly impair the animals health or wellbeing; contrary to section 22 (d) of the Animal Protection Act AND; causing an animal to be in distress; contrary to section 21 (1) of the Animal Protection Act. Ogilvie is scheduled for sentencing in Kentville provincial court on October 18, 2017.
