This February the Nova Scotia SPCA is pleased to announce the
launch of its 2nd Annual Humane Education Art Contest & Exhibition.
|
The aim of this exhibition is to encourage Nova Scotia youth to
think about Society’s relationship with animals. This year's theme
is Humane Choices, with topics including:
|
|
- What services do animals in our community need?
- Why should we have compassion & empathy towards our pets?
- Why should we spay or neuter our pets?
|
Students in any grade up to Grade 12 can submit an entry for
an exhibition at the Society’s Annual General Meeting on April 17th
2010, with juried posters selected for printing. Artists of posters
that are selected for printing will be given a token of appreciation
from the Nova Scotia SPCA. In addition they will be featured in
the Provincial Newsletter and will receive the opportunity to name
one of our adoptable animals (choice of a dog, cat, or rabbit).
All participants will receive a certificate of participation and
their art will be featured on the Provincial Website.
Entries must be received by the your local
Nova Scotia SPCA
Branch by March 15th, 2010. |

First Annual Nova Scotia SPCA Poster Contest
Check out the entries from kids in grades primary to six for
our first annual poster contest, which took place in March 2009.
Participants were asked to create a poster based on the themes "what
being kind to animals means to me" or "how the SPCA helps." Click
on the slideshow below to view all the entries. Please note that
a few entries are not included because they were larger than our
flatbed scanner.
