SPCA Reports Developments to the Traumatic Incident at HRM Metro Shelter

The Nova Scotia SPCA regrets to inform the public that the young pregnant cat nicknamed "Fighter" by shelter staff, that was injured in Monday's incident has been humanely euthanized along with her unborn kittens. The injuries that she suffered through this senseless act overtook her to the point where it was no longer humane to keep her alive.

Assistant Shelter Manager, Kathy Thomas stated "We are all very upset about this development. We were pulling for her."

The Nova Scotia SPCA is still seeking information on the identity of the person who abandoned these cats. If anyone has any information, please contact the SPCA provincial office at (902) 835-4798.
